It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Douglas Fowler (Doug)
the founder of our Australian Company.
In 1981 after a successful early career as Australian Managing Director for an English multi-national, Doug started Masterbind International Pty Ltd. The company acquired a number of exclusive Australian distributorships and subsequently became the exclusive importer and distributor of Renz products for Australia and New Zealand.
In fact Masterbind International had better penetration of Renz products, relative to the size of our market, than anywhere else in the world.
Well respected by Renz he also became a valued advisor and active contributor to their marketing and product strategic goals.
In 2005 Masterbind was sold to Chr Renz GmbH of Germany to become one of their many International subsidiaries.
It was then at the age of 76 that Doug decided to retire. He continued to take an active interest in the business and enjoyed staying in touch with the staff and the progress of the new entity Renz Australia.
Doug will be remembered for his unlimited energy and entrepreneurial enterprise. He was the consummate businessman, salesman and “hands on” manager and over the years took great pride and pleasure in passing on his considerable knowledge and experience to staff and colleagues.
He was a “one off” and will be sadly missed.
As a mark of respect the Sydney head office will be closed for half a day on Monday, July 23rd from 12 noon. This will also allow staff to attend the funeral.
